NEW SCOREBOARD IN BINGHAMTON
Interesting information from the Press & Sun Bulletin in Binghamton.
Beginning next season the Binghamton Mets will have a new 15 foot by 33 foot video board at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets received $750,000 for the project from state tax money. New York State set aside money for sports facility renovation work across the state in the name of economic development Sen. Thomas W. Libous, R-Binghamton said. The same spending proposal, Libous said, funded $1.5 million for an upgrade at the Broome County Veteran’s Memorial Arena.
"It makes for a better game experience", Libous said. "Our concept was to improve the quality at the stadium".
The scoreboard puts the B-mets in line with the rest of the Eastern League. Of the 12 teams in the league, 10 already have video screens.
