LEAGUE OPTIONED TO SYRACUSE
Jordan Bastian of BlueJays.com is reporting that reliever Brandon League, who appeared to be the heir apparent to Justin Spier as the set-up man this season for the Jays, was optioned to Syracuse today. League has battled a sore shoulder and mechanical difficulties with his arm-angle and has lost velocity.
Former SkyChiefs third-baseman and fan favorite Glenn Williams is one of a few non-roster invitees battling for the final spot on the Twins roster. Former SkyChiefs’ pitchers Zach Jackson and Corey Thurman were both sent down yesterday by the Milwaukee Brewers.
