Former Syracuse second baseman Orlando Hudson, always known for his outstanding defensive play, is having a breakout year offensively for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Hudson has prospered in the #3 spot in the Diamondbacks lineup amongst many of Arizona’s young players. Heading into action Saturday the “O-Dog” is hitting .350, with 4 HR, and he is tied for 4th in the National League with 25 RBI and ranks 4th with 42 hits.
Not only is Hudson excelling on the field he is a leader in the D’Backs clubhouse. Steve Gilbert, who covers Arizona for mlb.com, had a nice article on how Orlando is passing what he learned about playing hurt from Carlos Delgado and Shannon Stewart onto the young Diamondbacks.
