ALUMNI REPORT: BALE
In this week’s Alumni Report we take a look at John Bale.
Bale pitched for the SkyChiefs during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. After three seasons pitching in Japan, Bale signed with the Kansas City Royals this season but was injured during Spring Training and has just started pitching for KC in the past few weeks.
Besides a rough outing last week against the Yankees in which he walked 6 batters, Bale has been effective out of the Royals bullpen. He enters play today having made 4 appearances spanning 6.1 innings and has given up just one run.
Following up on last week’s Alumni Report, former Chiefs outfielder Gabe Gross has appeared in 8 games for Triple-A Nashville and is hitting .300 (9-30) with 5 runs scored and 2 RBI.
With football training camps underway former Chiefs infielder Chris Weinke (’95-’96) finds himself unemployed after spending six seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
Also currently unemployed is former Chiefs “Bat Boy For a Day” Brady Quinn who through 4 days of Cleveland Browns training camp remains a holdout. Quinn who is friends with IL President Randy Mobley’s son, Taylor, attend a Chiefs game in August of 1995.
