Chiefs will be well represented in MLB playoffs

The Major League Baseball playoffs will begin on Wednesday and six of the participating teams (plus the potential AL Central Champion White Sox) will have two former Syracuse players on their bench.

The Angels and Twins are the only teams without a former Chiefs player, which doesn’t bode well for fans in Anaheim and Minnesota – 14 of the last 15 World Series winners have had at least one former Chiefs player on the roster. The only exception was the 2003 Florida Marlins. However the Marlins’ hitting coach that season was former Chiefs outfielder Bill Robinson.
Here’s a list of the former Chiefs who will be participating in this year’s playoffs:

Boston Red Sox
Kevin Cash
Mike Timlin
Chicago Cubs
Chad Gaudin
Reed Johnson
Chicago White Sox
Don Cooper (Pitching Coach)
Dewayne Wise
Los Angeles Dodgers
Casey Blake
Jeff Kent

Milwaukee Brewers
Dave Bush
Garth Iorg (3B Coach)

Philadelphia Phillies
Scott Eyre
Jayson Werth

Tampa Bay Rays
Gabe Gross
Eric Hinske
