CINTRON JOINS CHIEFS INFIELD
The Nationals today continued to shape their Opening Day roster by returning 30 year old infielder ALEX CINTRON to the Syracuse Chiefs roster.
The native of Puerto Rico has played in over 600 games in the major leagues with Arizona (2001-2005), Chicago White Sox (2006-2007) and last season with the Baltimore Orioles.
A career .297 major league hitter, the switch hitter had his best season in 2003 with the Diamondbacks when he batted .317 with 13 HR and 51 RBI.
Cintron will play all four infield positions for the Chiefs this season and join 2B Pete Orr, 3B Joel Guzman, SS-Jose Castillo, UT-Freddie Bynum and 1B Brad Eldred to form a potent attack.
